Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:

1. Knowledge: acquire an understanding of the fundamental principles underlying OMICS analyses, including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, microbiota research and metagenomics, as well as bioinformatics.

2. Skills: understand and discuss the fundamental methodological and analytical aspects of studies employing genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, metagenomics, and bioinformatics approaches.

3. Competences: explain and interpret the central methodological, analytical, and translational aspects of OMICS research and to reflect on their scientific and clinical implications.

Content
This course introduces the scientific foundations of OMICS technologies in human health and disease. The curriculum covers genomics, genetic epidemiology, epigenetics; transcriptomics; proteomics; metabolomics and lipidomics; microbiota and metagenomics; and fundamental bioinformatic approaches. The emphasis is placed on methodological principles, study design, and data interpretation.
