Exploring the State-of-the-Art in quantitative transport science

Gaining knowledge in recent research results in the transport research area. Get familiar with recent methods and tools in publishing. Learn to present technical material to an audience, learn to present critique as an opponent, learn to communicate, learn to judge papers fast and slow.
Learning objectives:
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
- structure the writing of scientific papers
- use the most recent AI tools to improve scientific productivity in a manner that do not violate research integrity and ethics
- read, analyze, understand and assess seminal and recent research papers from different areas
- get a widening knowledge regarding methods and applications
- present technical papers for an audience such that the material is easily comprehendable
- be able to act as critical opponents
- read papers fast and slow
- improve his/her innovative mindset?
- learn good practice with respect to scientific referencing
- develop ideas for future research in transport research
- improve his/her way of exchanging ideas
- use the DTU library
Contents:
After the seminar students are expected to participate in a scientific discussion critically reviewing the approach taken and suggesting areas of related and future research as well as topics that could be included in the course. The expected is 140 hours. Much of this is used for preparing lectures, reading papers and advancing academic work of the students that are presented at the course.
