ISE PhD course: Research Design

The course is designed to train and engage PhD students in the basic elements of research design through assigned readings for preparation, introductory lectures for learning and reflection, writing of a paper on the PhD research design and student reflection and discussion. All sessions will contain a mixture of senior researcher lectures, examples or exercises, and discussions in which the PhD students are expected to be active. The course will be run over four days, requiring preparation and active participation = 5 ECTS (135 hours of reading, preparation and participation).
