Become a more productive and joyful writer: Workshop on PhD writing (4 June 2025)

The course is designed to enhance the PhD journey and the research process by introducing simple yet effective writing tools. The writing workshop is tailored to address the unique challenges faced by PhD students and aims to foster the development of beneficial writing practices and render the scholarly writing process more fruitful and efficient.
Academic aim:
- Acquire tools for establishing a productive and efficient writing practice
- Acquire tools for dealing with writing-related stress
- Acquire strategies for sustained writing motivation
Target group:
PhD students at all stages of their PhD project. PhD students at the earlier stages of their PhD will particularly benefit from the course.
The course forms part of the course program of the PhD Scohol at the Faculty of Law. The course is only open to PhD students at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen.

9:15-10:00 How to overcome challenges and lack motivation
10:10-11:00 Writing goals and writing session on your text
11:10-12:15 Sharing writing goals and writing session on your text
12:15-13:00 Lunch
13:00-14:00 How to approach the text and writing session on your text
14:00-14:30 Walk and Talk: Reflecting on the writing tools
14:30-15:30 How to structure your text and writing on your text
15:30-16:00 How to plan your writing for the next three months

Preparation:
Deadline 28 May 2025 at 12:00 noon:
Participants will be asked to prepare a short text prior to the course outlining their main challenges related to their existing writing practice. They will moreover be asked to identify and share which part of their PhD project they plan to work on during the course.
Deadline 25 June 2025 at 12:00 noon:
3 weeks after the course, participants will be invited to submit a reflection note. This document should encapsulate their key insights gained from the course, alongside a discussion regarding the application of the learned techniques within their own writing practices. Additionally, participants will be encouraged to outline their strategies for overcoming future writing challenges, leveraging the tools and methodologies introduced during our sessions.
