Quantum Computing (2025)

The Technical Doctoral School of IT and Design at Aalborg University

Welcome to Quantum Computing

Description: The course will provide a gentle introduction to quantum computing. This will be achieved by introducing first reversible computing and extending it afterwards to the quantum domain. Specifically, we will cover reversible computing, quantum basics (e.g. qubits and measurements), quantum circuits, circuit complexity and Grover's quantum search algorithm. In a later stage the course will show how classic computer science approaches can be leveraged in the field of quantum computing.

Prerequisites: Basic linear algebra

Learning objectives: Reversible computing, quantum basics, quantum circuits, quantum search, simulation and verification of quantum circuits.
