Literature study in biomedical signal analysis
DTU Department of Health Technology
The goal of this course is to introduce the participants/students to critical reading of the research literature within biomedical signal analysis, writing of papers and presentation of own as well as others’ research work. This is accomplished by reading selected papers and subsequently presenting to the other course participants and to the lecturer. Each student is requested to present at least three papers, one of which is written by themselves. A final report on a literature study should be handed in at the end of the course.
Learning objectives:
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
- read the scientific literature within biomedical signal analysis and processing.
- critically review a paper and identify its strengths and weaknesses.
- understand and explain how to review a paper.
- write a scientific paper.
- perform a literature search within a scientific area.
- describe the background for a scientific area.
- make a correct reference to the scientific literature.
- make a citation analysis.
