Copenhagen Winter School in Phenomenology
PhD School at the Faculty of Humanities at University of Copenhagen
The Copenhagen Winter School in Phenomenology is a PhD course that offers a close reading of a classical work in phenomenology. In 2025, the selected text will be Alfred Schutz' Der sinnhafte Aufbau der sozialen Welt (1932) (Phenomenology of the Social World, transl. by G. Walsh & F. Lehnert, Evanston: Northwestern University Press, 1967).
The Winter School will consist in two keynote lectures and 6 presentations by participating PhD students. The two keynote lectures will discuss Schutz' text and PhD students who wish to present will be expected to also engage with the work in question.
The two keynote speakers will be Dan Zahavi (CFS - KU) and Alexis Gros (Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena).
PhD student who gets selected for a presentation will have their travel and accommodation covered.
ECTS: 1.2 ECTS for participation / 2.7 ECTS for participation with presentation
