DCAcademy Summer Meeting 2024

Aim and content


This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD Students from NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee.

Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from NorDoc member faculties. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.


Learning objectives

A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:

1. Provide insights on novel aspects and recent advances within atrial fibrillation, acute cardiac arrest, vascular disease, atherosclerosis, hypertension, vascular genetics and other areas through talks and lectures from keynote speakers from Denmark and abroad

2. Provide a forum for younger researchers to present their project findings and interact with senior scientist, as well as become acquainted with other research projects

3. Initiate networking among cardiovascular researchers from all levels of experience and research backgrounds, as well as the opportunity to meet and interact with companies from the industry

4. Appoint the DCAcademy Lifetime Achievement Award to a senior scientist who has contributed significantly to the cardiovascular field


Content

DCAcademy Summer Meeting offers scientific session within both clinical, pre-clinical and basal science, presenting leading senior scientists and international keynote speakers within the cardiovascular field.

Please note for this course that you also have to sign up and submit an abstract at the webpage of Danish Cardiovascular Academy (DCAcademy) https://dcacademy.dk/display/artikel/dcacademy-summer-meeting-2024. It is mandatory for all PhD students to submit an abstract. Oral or poster presentations will be assigned based on abstracts. Please note that for PhD students only PhD school rules apply regarding registration and cancellation of the course.


Expected frequency

Yearly

Seats to PhD students from other Danish universities will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and according to the applicable rules. Applications from other participants will be considered after the last day of enrolment.

Note: All applicants are asked to submit invoice details in case of no-show, late cancellation or obligation to pay the course fee (typically non-PhD students). If you are a PhD student, your participation in the course must be in agreement with your principal supervisor.
